Mr Conor Kelleher
Conor KelleherHis reasons for joining the network include the following:
"EnviroSkillnet offers a chance to gain some much needed training in areas of natural history, environmental management and best practice ecological survey. As a sole trader in Ecology in Ireland, I find that the opportunities for continuing professional development to be very poor when compared to those in the UK where I lived for many years. In the UK, both the Field Studies Council and the Institute of Ecological and Environmental Management has provided environmental and ecological training for many years. It is important to keep abreast of new developments in one's chosen field of work and it would be better to have training for such in Ireland dealing with local issues and Irish habitats, wildlife etc."

Key areas of expertise
  • Bat ecology, survey, monitoring and mitigation
  • Experienced in mammal and bird survey. Faunal assessment for EIA. Acquainted with Irish habitats
  • Experienced in mapping and report compilation for EIS
  • Part-time lecturer on bat ecology at University College Cork

  • Dr. Shirley Gallagher, Network Manager, EnviroSkillnet, Registered Office, The Rubicon Centre, Westside, Model Farm Road, Cork, Co. Cork.
